Outdoor + Downtown Art Studio

We’re excited to showcase + share a few favorite photos of May’s First Friday + Family Block Party!  Can’t believe this was our third First Friday + Family Block Party in our downtown + outdoor art studio!  It was absolutely a beautiful night to be out-on-the-town among all the festivities in the open air!  Here’s to springing forward as we leap into time spent creating in the warm outdoors and to long summery days handcrafting with children!

Five Adventurous Arts + Crafts In Our OUTDOOR + DOWNTOWN ART STUDIO:

1. Bloesem On A Stick  “a liquid watercolor color explosion”
2. Freshwater Fishy Paintings  “back by popular demand”
3. Play Dough Potting Soil  “mixing glitter + handmade play dough”
4. A Blooming Sensory Table  “hands-on sensory play for the littles”
5. Springtime Wrist Wraps  “mixed media + collage explosion”

In just four hours we had over 135+ children come out to join us for art making!  We thought this was a fabulous turnout for our teeny tiny mountain town!  Way to get your families out on the town little artists!

I have to thank my 9 year old son for making 8 batches of this fabulous + handmade play dough and packaging it into 80, yes 80 little containers {pictured above} to share with the 78 littles that enjoyed mixing glitter + play dough out on the street!  It was a huge hit, SO HUGE we had to get more glitter halfway into the evening!

Thank you to all the families that joined us this year and if you didn’t make it out, be sure to join us next May!  Thank you for taking a peek at creating in our outdoor art studio on First Friday in historic downtown Carbondale | CO!  HANDMAKERY: A Children’s Art Studio loved having the opportunity be a sponsor at the Family Block Party for a third year!  The Family Block Party is an annual event that includes a fabulous live band, beautiful face painting, exciting carnival games + a bounce house, arts + crafts {with us}, sweet adoptable pets looking for a forever home, a silent auction full of amazing giveaways, food + drink hosted by The Village Smithy Restaurant, a Main Street Fashion Show put on by Lulubelle and more!  Funds benefit Colorado Animal Rescue, Children’s Rocky Mountain Preschool and Carbondale Recreation!  This night wouldn’t be possible without all the fabulous organizers, volunteers, local businesses, community sponsors + supporters and all the MANY families + friends that attended the 4-8PM celebration of SPRING IS HERE!
